Indicators

The Indicator Frameworks are pan-Canadian resources that provide measures of chronic diseases, mental health, risk and protective factors and associated determinants. Combined with the Data Tool platform, each measure within a Framework can be visualized.

Perinatal Health Indicators (PHI)

The Perinatal Health Indicators provide national surveillance information on key indicators of maternal, fetal and infant health in Canada based on data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s Discharge Abstract Database, the Canadian Community Health Survey, and Vital Statistics (birth, stillbirth and death databases). An interactive data tool breaks down each indicator by province/territory, time trends and other factors.

Child Maltreatment Surveillance Indicator Framework

Child Maltreatment Surveillance Indicator Framework (CMSIF)

The Child Maltreatment Surveillance Indicator Framework (CMSIF) presents child maltreatment outcome indicators and risk and protective factors at the individual, family, community and societal levels, disaggregated by sex, age and other sociodemographic variables. This Framework will function as a valuable resource pertaining to an issue that affects at least one in three Canadian adults.

Suicide Surveillance Indicator Framework (SSIF)

The Suicide Surveillance Indicator Framework (SSIF) provides information on suicide and self-inflicted injury outcomes and its associated risk and protective factors in Canada. Indicators are grouped by outcome and four key domains (individual, family, community, society). Pan-Canadian estimates are provided for each indicator.

They are grouped by movement behaviour and three key domains: Individual, Family/social environment, and Built/society environment.

These indicators are grouped into four domains - demographics, health status and outcomes, determinants of health, and health system performance. Canadian Chronic Disease Indicators (CCDI)

The Canadian Chronic Disease Indicators (CCDI) provide information on chronic diseases, their determinants, and their risk and protective factors in Canada. Using an intuitive Data Tool, pan-Canadian estimates, time trends and data breakdowns by demographic and socioeconomic variables are provided for each indicator and their specific measures.
